Kluang Rail Coffee - "It's a local motion"

Kluang, is a town that located at the central of the state of Johor. It's a nice place with good food that u not gonna missed!

I think most of us (those stay in klang valley) have seen "Kluang Station" before here and i tried it before and i think it is quite nice until i got to the chance to try the authentic "Kluang Rail Coffee". Kluang Rail Coffee is actually a canteen located in Kluang Railway Station (KTM). It serves the best toast and coffee in the town!

My friend from Kluang always told me that if you never try the toast and coffee in Kluang Railway Coffee, you are considered as never been to this town and now i understand why.

The Kluang Rail Coffee is one of the local' favorite and famous among Singaporean. Some of them traveled all the way from Singapore to Kluang for the toast and coffee. The Kluang Rail Coffee has 3 outlets in the town. Two of them are a more modernized air conditioned railway station themed restaurants and another one is the one, the origin of Kluang Rail Coffee which is still situated in the Kluang railway station and i visited the most authentic one in the station.

and here i am, at the railway station of Kluang.

Have a look into the very authentic Kopitiam which serves superb toast and coffee.

My friend told me that this place were really crowded all the time during morning and late afternoon, you have to wait for a seat during those "peak" time and so we came here on 2pm where there were not so crowded.

The popular Kaya Butter toast! This one they called it "keping". Until today, they still toast the bread using charcoal fire like back in those old days which is really vintage for me and they made their own kaya if i'm not mistaken. The taste was great!

This one call "bun". Obviously is a roti bun bakar lah...haha

And Kopi which you cant afford to missed also. It using the coffee powder of a local coffee brand also, The "Kopi Cap Televisyen" which produced coffee powder since those early years. The coffee powder maker is also very famous one. Ya, and the Kopi was extravagant in flavor and aroma!

Ya...don't forget to try out their nasi lemak and mee hun siam in small packs as well. You have to be early or else it will be finished cause the quantity are limited.

I'm always craving for the best toast i ever had after came back from Kluang. Now i understand why people love their toast and coffee!

Ye Olde SmokeHouse Fraser Hill

All the while, i'm a big lover of traditional English' food. Traditional English High Tea and Full English Breakfast are what i always craving for! Obviously my boyfie knew about it and he gave me a big surprise on last christmas! He brought me to Fraser Hill on a weekend because he knew that there is a very nice guest house that serves authentic English' food!
And ya, i know this is an outdated blog...haha

Fraser Hill is about 2 hours drive from KL, but we took about 3 hours on that day because of the long winding road that he actually cant go fast! It was like 20++km winding road all the way up to the hill!

It's a small town where traditional British style buildings can be found everywhere in the small town. No entertainment, purely for those who seek for a weekend retreat and escape from the bustling city. It was well preserved and the weather was really cool at that time!

Here you go, the iconic clock tower of Fraser Hill which is just located at the center of the town

5 minutes drive from the town center, we reached at Ye' Olde Smokehouse Guesthouse! Boyfie has booked a room which i really fell in love with!
Here began our 2 days retreat!

First glance into the guesthouse. It was just few days after Christmas and I felt like Christmas has not over yet because the guesthouse was so well decorated!

Complimentary welcome drinks for 2 (Fruit punch)

The "Living room" of the guesthouse. It is pretty like a house in a countryside of British and you don't really feel like it's actually Malaysia.

It was so relaxing.......

The outdoor dining area!

High Tea!!!! Traditional English High Tea for 2!!!! Oh my god, I love it so much and the served really nice scones!

Not forget to mention the heavenly tasted English Tea! Everyone gonna love it! We had it in the noon, before sleep and in the morning! Good night tea is free :)

Something special, there is a real fire place in the house! You can experience the warm of fire place in a "winter" night. Actually night time in Fraser hill can be real cool.

Fire place during daytime. Can see the wall turned black because of the charcoal burning every night.

At night, they fired up the charcoal in the fire place and it was really warm!

Talking about the room, it is a traditional British style cottage. Photo below showed the main gate to enter the guest rooms area.

The outside view of our room, very resemblance to English' countryside isn't?

I love the night view so much

Sitting on the super comfy armchair while waiting for our dinner to be prepared

It's dinner time! The served good western food also but you can expect quite a long wait as they didnt prepare the food beforehand and it was a little pricey. Anywhere, not much choices for food on the hill. We had every meals in the guesthouse itself.

Second day morning. Picture tells everything,
 it was freaking cold!

Woke up early in the morning for this scrumptious Full Traditional English Breakfast!

It was really hard for me to say good bye to this "little England" as I really love this place especially the Smoke House. We will definitely come back again for a short retreat!

Bye Smoke House, Bye Fraser Hill!
